The sundial of Aiello Junior High School attracts the attention of all the pupils, who often consult the solar time, which is different from the time shown on their watches.

This is due to the difference of the meridian zone of Aiello (13°22’ 12’’), in respect to the one of reference, 15° East of Greenwich, and to the Time Equation, which varies throughout the year by a few minutes; the anticipation or the delay are due to the velocity of the Earth during its annual orbit around the sun.
