The solar timepiece denominated “Armillary Sphere” is the prime example of all the sundials that may be found in Aiello, in considerable number by now, and it has become their new symbol.

The Armillary Sphere is among the noblest gnomonic and astronomic instruments handed down from ancient times; the noun “armilla” comes from Latin and means ring or bracelet.
